CYCAT® 500

CYCAT® 500 by allnex is a strong acid catalyst based on dinonylnaphthalene disulfonic acid. It accelerates the cure between hydroxyl, carboxyl, and amide functional groups with alkylated amino crosslinking agents. It is used in electrocoating applications to achieve cure in the range of 110-135°C in 15-30 minutes, or to reduce the baking time at higher baking temperatures.
  • It is suitable for coatings applied by other application techniques, offering improved adhesion and resistance properties compared with other sulfonic acid catalysts.
  • It exhibits high electrical resistivity and reduced energy requirements, with no decrease in electrocoat bath stability.
  • CYCAT® 500 is designed for primers, coil coating finishes, high solids systems and electrostatic spray systems.
  • The recommended dosage level is 1-3%.
  • It has a shelf life of 730 days.
