Afcona -5071 by Afcona Additives is alkylol ammonium salt of a high-molecular weight carboxylic acid. Acts as anionic wetting and dispersing additive to prevent settling as well as flooding of pigment.

It helps to prevent interfacial tension between the hydrophilic pigments/extenders and the binders as well as stabilized the pigments through electrical charge repulsion forces.
Afcona -5071 offers anti-settling and anti-sagging properties.
Compared to other type of anti-settling agents, it also gives wetting and dispersing properties and will not influence or reduce the gloss of the system.
The recommended dosage is 0.5-2% based on inorganic pigments, 2.5-5% based on organic pigments.
