Afcona -3031

Organically modified polyether polysiloxane. Acts as a slip and leveling additive. Can enhance visually film thickness. Does not contain any reactive functional group that can cross-link with UV resin system. Due to its high surface activity, AFCONA-3031 can interfere with intercoat adhesion when recoated without sanding. If air is introduced by the application equipment, the use of small amounts of defoamers such as AFCONA-2020 and AFCONA-2022 are recommended. Normally used in metal coatings like industrial baking systems, car refinish polyurethane top clear coats and other vehicle paint. Addition and dosage: 0.1- 1.0% on total formulation. In general under normal conditions, the dosage is 0.1 – 0.3% based on total formulation.
