Afcona -2722

Silicone based defoamer. Produces rapid deaeration and defoaming of solvent-free epoxy, polyurethane as well some UPE systems. The silicone part is responsible for de-aeration and the non-silicone part is responsible for the antifoam as well as defoaming. Also acts as a leveling agent, giving a smooth surface to the coating. In epoxy coating, combination with AFCONA – 2038 will increase the defoaming performance tremendously. Addition and dosage: 0.5 - 1.5% on total formulation. In general under normal conditions, the dosage is 1.0% for solvent-free system and 0.5% for solvent-based system, based on total formulation. For serious case combination of AFCONA – 2722 and AFCONA – 2038 at 1% each will solve most of the foam problem.
