BASF Unveils baslac® 45 Waterborne Basecoat Refinish Paint in China

HONG KONG / SHANGHAI, China -- BASF has announced the launch of baslac® 45 waterborne basecoat refinishing system in China. baslac® 45 builds upon the brand's more than 20 years of success delivering high-performance coating solutions to value-oriented car repair shops around the world.

"An increasing number of bodyshops in China are asking for water-based refinishing solutions and we answered that call quickly with baslac® 45, arguably the best performing and competitively priced waterborne system in the Value-for-Money market segment today," said Chris Titmarsh, Vice President, BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions, Asia Pacific.

"Market feedback backed-up with technical testing from our laboratories showed baslac® 45 to be highly efficient in application, reducing processing times by up to 28 percent compared to relevant competitors' products. That means in a typical shop our customers can do up to almost 40 percent more repairs and can reduce their total costs by repair by more than 25 percent."

Achieving Outstanding Color Results with baslac® 45

For bodyshops that are using baslac ®35 and other solvent-borne systems, transitioning to baslac® 45 is simple – processes and equipment for color mixing and spray remain unchanged. Color matching tools for the baslac® system are comprehensive and simple to use to help bodyshops quickly achieve outstanding color results. "We were surprised at how easy it was to switch over to baslac 45 because the products are applied using standard application processes," said Mr. Yanjiang Wang, After-Sales Manager, Beijing Ruitong Jiaye Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd. Using standard application processes, blending, spraying and leveling are even easier than before.
