Sun Chemical at ECS 2013: Showcased Predisol® CAB Pigment Preparations

Published on 2013-03-25. Author : SpecialChem

NUREMBERG, GERMANY -- At this year's European Coatings SHOW 2013, Sun Chemical Performance Pigments featured its line of Predisol® CAB pigment preparations, which provide maximum color intensity, cleaner hues and extreme transparency of the base pigment. The line also includes a range of high grade black pigments which provide for a very deep black color and excellent jetness.

"Our customers in the automotive industry have seen a shift in color preference from consumers in the past year," said Mehran Yazdani, Vice President, Marketing, Sun Chemical Performance Pigments. "Where silver used to be the dominant hue, black has now moved to the most favored pigment. Our Predisol offering provides customers with the jewel-like deep black look of luxury they are now looking for and combines that with convenience and ease of use."

The Predisol CAB preparations are formulated with a balance of pigment and resin in order to achieve complete incorporation after just 30 to 45 minutes of high speed stirring. This ease in dispersion allows for a streamlined production process overall, from stirring to cleaning the dispersing equipment.

Ideal for a variety of both metallic and solid finishes, Predisol preparations are compatible with commonly used acrylic, keytone and polyester coatings and do not contain any additives that could complicate the formulation process, resulting in a high quality pigment consistency.

With Predisol's optimized dispersion, it is possible to achieve more intense colors, especially in reds and maroons, that cannot be achieved with conventional dispersion measures. More intense metallic and pearlescent finishes with excellent metallic flop are achievable as the intensity of the chroma and cleanliness of the hue is much better that those resulting from conventional procedures.
