Published on 2008-09-05. Author : SpecialChem

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Sherwin-Williams Protective and Marine Coatings has introduced Waterbased Acrolon 100, an Acrylic Polyurethane that is environmentally friendly. The coating is well within the Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) guidelines with a VOC level <100 g/L and is Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAPS) free.

Advanced technology allows Waterbased Acrolon 100 to compare favorably in performance to premium quality solvent-based urethanes. It retains appearances over a wide range of chemical, weather and mechanical conditions.

Providing excellent color and gloss retention for long term performance, Waterbased Acrolon 100 is also competitively priced and competes favorably with solvent based urethanes.

Waterbased Acrolon 100 is an excellent choice for, steel tank exteriors, structural steel, rail cars, paper mills, power plants, bridges, conveyors, refineries, nuclear power facilities, marine applications, chemical processing equipment, and industrial machinery and equipment. It is suitable for use in USDA-inspected facilities, and is acceptable for use in high performance architectural applications.

"Waterbased Acrolon 100 offers the best of both worlds - OTC compliance and HAPS free, coupled with high performance that can be utilized in a wide variety of industrial and marine applications," said W. Doni Riddle, Vice President, Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings. "Sherwin-Williams strives to provide environmentally-friendly, high-performance products that deliver value for our customers."
