Published on 2013-01-08. Author : SpecialChem

Schlenk has announced the introduction of Decomet® 5010/10 for dark chrome-like mirror effects in screen printing. Decomet® 5010/10 is a top-quality Vacuum Metallized Pigment (VMP) especially developed for screen printing. An extremely elaborate production process allows this product to generate mirroring chrome-like surfaces. Thereby plate-like aluminum pigments with equally low particle thickness and a narrow particle size distribution of ultrapure aluminum are processed in a PVD-process.

Advantages of Decomet® 5010/10

Decomet® 5010/10 is able to accomplish very special effects. Screen prints with Decomet® 5010/10 achieve not only a dark gleam of chrome, but captivate also due to their strongly reflecting mirror effect. And in addition Decomet® 5010/10 simultaneously impresses by a high hiding power and an exceptionally high aspect ratio (i.e. ratio of pigment surface to pigment edge surface).

Application fields for Decomet® 5010/10

Decomet® 5010/10 perfectly suits screen printing applications in direct and reverse printing, e.g. for logos or other design elements of consumer and entertainment electronics devices like smartphones or tablet PCs. And it also wonderfully matches the refinement requirements for products manufactured in the in-mold procedure like ski, bicycle or motorcycle helmets.
