Published on 2005-11-07. Author : SpecialChem

The Ultraglass UVGO ink system - a development of Marabu in cooperation with Rastal for drink glass applications - delivers particularly brilliant colours opening new decoration possibilities. This pioneer ink technology offers innumerable benefits in regard to the design and refining of drinks glasses, small cosmetic bottles, and flat glass used for indoor applications such as furniture or interior decoration.

Extensive tests carried out by the development partners confirmed the excellent characteristics of the new ink system. Furthermore with the establishment of the EU packaging directive for container glass printing, UV-curable screen printing inks have increasingly gained in importance. Heavy metal-free formulations exploiting energy savings thanks to the immediate UV curing process together with the almost unlimited range of highly brilliant colour shades are convincing arguments for choosing UV inks.

The Marabu UV ink system offers a wide colour spectrum – almost all Pantone/HKS tones can be realised, convinces through colour brilliance and eliminates colour variation, is environmentally sound, being heavy metal-free offers excellent chemical and good mechanical resistance, is dishwasher resistant, enables decoration of (hardened) glass and bottles without changing their physical characteristics as UV-curing replaces the baking process, is ideal to combine with other decor solutions based on organic colours , e.g. DesoSmell or DecoCool and is especially suited for decoration of high-quality, blown glass gifts.
