STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- PPG Industries' automotive refinish business has added a new 2.1 VOC (volatile organic compound) production clearcoat, MC730, to the OMNI™ LV product line. Engineered for panel and spot repairs, MC730 is an economically-priced clearcoat designed for cost-conscious collision shops intent on boosting performance and efficiency.

MC730 uses a simple 4-to-1 mix ratio to facilitate easy spraying. It also features fast cycle times that include a short, low-bake option and the capacity to air-dry and buff quickly. This new production clear can be used with any of three available hardeners to adjust to job size and working conditions, enabling exceptional flexibility.

“We’re very happy we can offer this outstanding clearcoat to our value-focused customers,” said Jennifer Boros, PPG segment manager, solvent-borne brands. “PPG understands that costs can be an issue at times. That’s why we’ve developed MC730 to be a compliant, user-friendly 2.1 VOC production clear that reins in those costs while helping deliver the high levels of quality and productivity customers want and expect from PPG.”

The OMNI refinish system by PPG offers a complete range of coatings from pretreatments to topcoats.
