PolyOne’s Wilflex® Brand Introduces Patent-Pending QuantumOne™ Non-PVC Plastisol Ink

Published on 2004-09-20. Author : SpecialChem

CLEVELAND -- PolyOne Corporation's (NYSE: POL) Wilflex® brand of screen printing inks introduces patent-pending QuantumOne™, a new line of non-phthalate, non-PVC plastisol inks for textile screen printers.

QuantumOne inks provide printers with a high-quality, easy-to-use product that performs similar to traditional vinyl plastisol inks but contains no PVC. The development and launch of QuantumOne inks are in direct response to some companies' desire to find an alternative to PVC-containing inks. The QuantumOne product line is not water-based, so printers do not have to change their application techniques or printing and drying equipment standards.

QuantumOne inks are part of Wilflex's family of MX color blending ink systems, which incorporate the 15 mixing colors, as well as a cotton white, which can be used as an under-print and as a last-down white. Textile printers waste no time on color matching; they simply follow the MX recipes to accurately and instantly create PANTONE® simulations. QuantumOne is designed to produce a soft and matte ink finish on 100% cotton substrates.

"QuantumOne inks are an exciting addition to our line of globally recognized ink products," said Chris Pluck, product manager for specialty inks, including the QuantumOne product line. "We have responded aggressively to the market request for a non-PVC screen printing ink that also performs as well and is as easy to use as traditional vinyl plastisol inks."
