New Rheology Modifier BYK®-428

Published on 2009-02-03. Author : SpecialChem

The use of high and low shear thickeners in water-borne systems is essential in order to achieve a performance similar to that of traditional solvent-borne alkyd paints with regard to brushability, spatter resistance and leveling. BYK®-428 is a new rheology modifier suitable for controlling high shear viscosity in aqueous coatings. It can be combined with any of the standard low shear rheology additives on the market, e.g. BYK®-425. BYK®-428 is VOC- and APEO-free.
