Philadelphia, PA -- Rohm and Haas has received U.S.
EPA registration* for ROCIMA 80 Industrial Algaecide, the newest
addition to the ROCIMA-brand portfolio of biocides for paint and coatings.
ROCIMA 80 enables customers to complement their existing ROCIMA
biocides to increase protection from algal growth, with an easy-to-use
liquid formulation. ROCIMA 80 is a water-based formulation containing
33% active cybutryne, a very effective algaecide.
"We are pleased we can offer this targeted protection
for coatings and building materials," says Mike Sheehan, Business
Manager for Biocides in North America. "Algae are prone to grow on
cementitious substrates, such as stucco and fiber cement as well as on
roof coatings. ROCIMA 80 will be especially important for certain
geographies, such as the coastal areas of the SE and NW United States,
which are more likely to have to algae problems."
ROCIMA 80 offers optimal protection when combined
with other ROCIMA-brand biocides. It does not contain or release formaldehyde,
and there is minimal VOC contribution.
Rohm and Haas offers a full range of biocide solutions
to protect coatings and building materials under the ROCIMA, ROZONE, KATHON,
KORDEK and SKANE brands.
