Interlux® Introduces a new brushable formula of VC® Performance Epoxy with Teflon®

Published on 2007-11-05. Author : SpecialChem

UNION, NJ -- In a statement from Union, Vice President for Marketing Bob Donat said "VC PERFORMANCE EPOXY with Teflon® was originally developed for use on high performance powerboats and racing sailboats. It was designed to be spray applied and then wet sanded and burnished for a super smooth finish. But over the years people found other uses for it, such as trailered or rack stored boats or simply on boats that don’t need antifouling protection but were held back by not being able to get a real good finish by roller and brush. We wanted a product that could be applied with a roller and brush without losing any of its spray characteristics and after a lot of work and extensive testing we are proud to announce a new formula of VC Performance Epoxy that can be applied successfully with a brush and roller and still meet the expectations of the pickiest professional spray applicator."

VC PERFORMANCE EPOXY is an extremely hard epoxy that resists the scuffing that can occur from loading your boat on a trailer or a lift. VC PERFORMANCE EPOXY uses Teflon® to add lubricity to the finish which helps reduce drag. Teflon® also helps to resist staining and to make it easier to clean the bottom when needed. Finally, if you choose to wet sand the finish, Teflon® also helps to ease wet sanding and burnishing. VC Performance Epoxy with Teflon is biocide free and is ideal for boats that are permanently moored in the water but do not require antifouling protection.
