Dunn-Edwards' Enhanced EZ-PRIME® Exterior Wood Primer Offers Superior Adhesion

Published on 2012-05-28. Author : SpecialChem

LOS ANGELES -- Dunn-Edwards has improved its EZ-PRIME® Premium Exterior Wood Primer, an exterior acrylic primer known by painting contractors for its superior adhesion, hide, enamel holdout and tannin stain resistance on woods that are subject to stain bleeding. New & Improved EZ-PRIME Premium still provides excellent adhesion to wood, and now its superior tannin stain resistance is improved, making it an ideal primer for woods such as redwood, cedar, T1-11 siding, exterior plywood, doors, windows, trim and fences.

New & Improved EZ-PRIME Premium's superior tannin stain resistance versus competitive exterior wood primers can visibly be seen in the redwood panel photographs below. The high quality resin used in its formulation provides better tannin stain resistance by either blocking out or locking in the tannins present in the wood so that it does not bleed through to the finish coats. "The improvements that we've made further demonstrate our commitment to providing professionals and homeowners the highest quality, best performing paint so the project gets done right the first time," said Dave Heiligenthal, Product Marketing Manager. "Plus, it is backed by our Lifetime Limited Guarantee," said Heiligenthal.

Like all other Dunn-Edwards products, EZ-PRIME Premium is eco-friendly, ethylene glycol (EG)-free and produced in the world's only LEED® Gold-certified paint manufacturing plant. EZ-PRIME Premium is ultra-low VOC at 50 grams per liter, and has very low odor both during and after application.
