Cray Valley's Waterborne Polymers Department is Launching Craymul® 2716

Published on 2004-12-15. Author : SpecialChem

Cray Valley's Waterborne Polymers Department is launching Craymul® 2716, a new class of UV curable acrylic dispersion for high quality Industrial Wood Finishes.

It is based on a dual cure system. A pre-crosslinking step takes place before UV curing giving tack free films. Once cured under UV radiation the films are hard and show an excellent chemical resistance.

Due to its acrylic nature, Craymul® 2716 has outstanding properties : quick water release, excellent wood grain definition in spray applied open-pore finishes and good adhesion on difficult substrates.

Craymul® 2716 is a high reactive resin that can be formulated with low amount of photoinitiators in order to obtain non-yellowing clear and pigmented finishes. It allows the easy formulation of matt finishes using low levels of flatting agents.

With Craymul® 2716, Cray Valley confirms its ongoing commitment to develop innovative and environmental friendly solutions for its Coatings customers.

Part of TOTAL's Chemicals branch, the Cray Valley, Cook Composites & Polymers and Sartomer Group employs 3,600 people and is the world's second largest producer of resins with sales of 1.6 billion euros in 2003.
