its Polyaspartic Resins and more
Backed by a depth of technical expertise, Covestro is constantly innovating and collaborating with customers to improve existing products and develop new solutions for current and future coating challenges. Covestro will showcase a variety of world-class raw materials and technologies that contribute to high-performance, high-quality polyurethane coatings at the American Coatings Show, April 12-14, in Indianapolis. Here’s a sneak peek at the show.

In the Booth

Visitors to Covestro’s booth (#2331) will be welcomed by the company’s colorful Vespa® scooters that demonstrate how polyurethane-based coatings play an important role in the style and protection of transportation solutions. Covestro has a broad range of materials to meet the demands of the transportation and automotive industry inside and out.

A wall display will showcase a variety of Covestro’s soft-touch plastic coatings that provide desirable haptic qualities to ensure a pleasant feel. Covestro offers a wide selection of polyurethane raw materials for solventborne and waterborne soft-touch coatings that are abrasion and scratch resistant.

Covestro will also spotlight polyurethane coatings for sports and leisure applications ranging from soccer balls to footwear. Clothing and shoes worn by athletes, along with the equipment they use, must withstand a great deal. Coatings based on Covestro raw materials offer winning properties that exceed the requirements of top-class athletes.

A concrete desk will be on display to highlight the company’s concrete coating and sealer options. Concrete coatings made with Covestro’s polyaspartic resins offer low volatile organic compound (VOC) contents, rapid curing without sacrificing durability and are workable in low temperatures.

Continuing the tour, visitors can see how Covestro provides material solutions for corrosion protection to meet the needs of different applications and extend their service life. A scaled bridge, water tower and other samples within the booth will bring these applications to life.

Covestro will demonstrate how its material solutions for wood coatings can protect and enhance the natural beatuty of wood. Whether one component, two component or UV-curing, Covestro’s waterborne polyurethane coating raw materials provide suitable answers for manufacturers of wood coatings.

Visitors can experience Covestro’s dry erase paint technology for conference rooms, classrooms and creative spaces. The clear, dry erase paint technology, professionally applied over a previously painted wall, allows the wall area to be written on with dry erase markers while retaining the original paint’s color.

Expert Talks

Covestro experts will share their coatings knowledge as they give presentations at the event. The talks are scheduled for:

10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11: Mike Jeffries, field technology service manager, Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties, Covestro LLC, will highlight the versatile chemistry of polyurethane coatings during a pre-conference tutorial.

4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12: Kurt Best, senior principal scientist, Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties, Covestro LLC, will present “Balancing Haptic Feel and Performance Properties of Waterborne Polyurethanes.”

Stop by Covestro’s booth (#2331) during the show to discuss and see how Covestro raw materials can enhance your next formulation.
