COLORTREND® 808 No-VOC Line Expanded to Deliver Higher Performance

Published on 2009-04-13. Author : SpecialChem

PARSIPPANY, N.J -- Evonik Degussa Corporation has expanded its COLORTREND® 808 product line to include fifteen new colorants offering enhanced performance solutions and flexibility in customization. Introduced last year, COLORTREND® 808 colorants are no-VOC, APE-free, low odor, contain no free-formaldehyde.

Paint companies upgrading or investing in new no-VOC colorant technology now have increased flexibility in customization to meet specific market demands, maximize performance and even reduce tinting costs.

COLORTREND® 808 high performance colorants offer better fade resistance, improved opacity, minimal impact on film properties and better durability for interior/exterior paints and façade applications. Since many of the colorants are more highly concentrated, benefits such as producing more vivid colors while requiring less colorant to achieve the desired shade can be realized. The addition of these new colorants provide paint companies with even more options to deliver improved performance characteristics with more robust colorants to meet demanding market needs.

"To comply with European environmental regulations, Evonik began meeting the demands for low and no-VOC technology over a decade ago. COLORTREND® 808 is the latest in a line of products developed to meet the increasing restrictions on VOCs and address growing consumer demand for safer, more environmentally-friendly paints," said John Kennedy, Vice President and General Manager for Evonik's colorants business in the Americas. "The COLORTREND® 808 high performance line provides paint producers with a perfect opportunity to update their color system utilizing the latest colorant technology available."
