BYK®-4500 improves adhesion of aqueous systems
on old alkyd coatings.
Adhesion Promoter for Aqueous Emulsion Paints and Alkyd
Emulsions Applied on Aged Coatings
The additive improves adhesion (especially wet-adhesion)
of aqueous systems on old alkyd coatings. This also applies to substrates
that cannot be sanded prviously because accessibility is difficult. BYK®-4500
is easy to incorporate and does not influence storage stability and drying
behavior. Dry film properties such as gloss, hardness, flexibility, or
tendency to yellowing are not influenced either.
BYK®-4510 improves adhesion on steel, galvanized
steel, aluminum, copper and other metals.
Adhesion Promoter for Metal Substrates
The additive improves adhesion on steel, galvanized steel,
aluminum, copper and other metals. It is recommended for baking systems
based on acrylic/melamine, alkyd/melamine, polyester/melamine, and also
for coil coatings on galvanized steel. After neutralization (with, e.g.,
DMEA) it can also be used in water-soluble systems. BYK®-4510 has
no negative influence on storage stability and weather resistance of the
coating. Drying behavior as well as hardness and flexibility are not or
only insignificantly influenced
