BYK®-3932 P: Special Surface Additive for Powder Coatings with better Surface Protection

Published on 2010-01-06. Author : SpecialChem

Standard surface additives provide excellent leveling and anti-crater properties but they do not improve the surface protection. To achieve a higher degree of surface protection, waxes are commonly used but they often have a negative influence on gloss and they are less effective. BYK®-3932 P is based on a new, patented technology and an alternative to the use of wax additives because it provides better scratch resistance, a surface slip increased by more than 40 % and no gloss reduction which is most important for high gloss powder coatings. We recommend to combine BYK®-3932 P with the current flow agent.

BYK®-3932 P is a leveling and anti-crater additive with improved scratch resistance for high-gloss powder coatings and higher surface slip (> 40%). It creates no gloss reduction like wax-based products.

Combining BYK®-3932 P with a standard leveling additive (e.g. with a ratio of 50:50) is recommended.
