Budenheim at ECS 2015: Unveils FR CROS® 584 Ammonium Polyphosphate for Intumescent Coatings

Published on 2015-04-23. Author : SpecialChem

At the European Coatings Show, Budenheim presents a new product to extend the shelf life of intumescent coatings. FR CROS® 584 is the first of a new generation of Ammonium Polyphosphates that will help to considerably extend the shelf-life of intumescent coatings especially in cold climates and sensitive formulations such as water-based coatings.

The new product completes the product family of FR CROS® grades with new specialty Ammonium Polyphosphates designed for fire protective intumescent coatings. This new grade of Ammonium Polyphosphate resolves the known limitations of the long-term stability of such coatings by noticeably prolonging their shelf-life. With this feature, Budenheim supports coating manufacturers by offering more environmentally friendly formulations.

To serve customers globally, Budenheim takes advantage of producing FR CROS® at two sites: La Zaida/Spain and Shanghai/China. Its high-quality production process employs a novel proprietary technology for the new grade.
