Another Innovative Addition to SWAFC's Planet Color Line

Warrensville Heights, OH -- When creating multi-layered graphics for custom-designed artwork in vehicle refinishing, automotive artists are always looking for a way to carefully 'lockdown' their basecoat layers and graphics. Enter Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. (SWAFC) with its new Intercoat Lockdown Clear PCMC5.

The new PCMC5 Intercoat Lockdown clear is part of the SWAFC Planet Color™ system, which features special combinations of highly reflective additives that create brilliant, new multi-dimensional finishes, including color shifting, iridescent, illuminated, textured, shimmering and many more.

The new Planet Color PCMC5 has unique holding properties that create a uniform foundation for additional artwork or topcoats. In addition to locking down the basecoat color, PCMC5 allows for taping, rubber spray masks for graphics and other special effect techniques ... and it does not need to be sanded prior to top coating which eliminates a time consuming step in custom artwork.

PCMC5 can be top coated with basecoat color or clear coated after 10 minutes of air dry. It is not designed to be sanded and has a recoat window of 10 minutes to seven days. Although not recommended to be used as a final topcoat, it provides an excellent base to be top coated with SWAFC's SRC1 or one of its 900 series clears.
