Adler Introduces Low VOC Multi-layer Coating System, Nova-Solve, for the Furniture Market

Published on 2012-02-13. Author : SpecialChem

With Nova-Solve, ADLER has launched a new product with which carpenters and cabinet makers meet the VOC Guidelines effortlessly and yet do not have to dispense with the benefits of solvent-based paints and varnishes. The ready-to-spray coat should not contain more than 500 gm of solvent per liter. ADLER is showcasing the new solution at the Holz Handwerk (Wood Handicraft Fair) 2012: ADLER Nova-Solve can do everything that a solvent-based paint can, and yet, it conforms to Decopaint. With it, users can complete any application without a worry.

High in Performance, Low in Emissions

"The VOC or Decopaint guidelines cover all components that are permanently connected to the building such as staircases and interior doors. We have developed ADLER Nova-Solve especially for this purpose. But, of course, the coating system is also best suited for all furniture surfaces," says Peter Stecher, ADLER Sales Manager for the wood processing industry. With Nova-Solve, the developers at ADLER have succeeded in formulating a hybrid paint that has a considerably lower solvent content and thus, complies with the statutory guidelines.

"Thanks to a special formulation, we could replace a substantial part of the solvent with water," explains Franz Thummer, who heads the development of furniture coatings at ADLER. Despite this, Nova-Solve has all the properties of a 2-component polyurethane paint, which is suitable for use and, above all, concerns the grain accentuation, which is very important to the users. They need not change anything even when it comes to the application: The multi-layer coating system offers a primer coat and topcoat in one, and depending on the need, two to three coats are applied.

Convince Yourself on Wooden Handicraft

Furniture builders, carpenters and cabinet makers can convince themselves at the Holz Handwerk (Wooden Handicraft) of the final quality of surfaces coated with Nova-Solve. "Quite naturally, we are also showcasing other innovations there, such as the universal spray and insulating filler, Aqua-IsoSpeed," promises Peter Stecher and invites all those who are interested to drop by at the ADLER stall at the Holz Handwerk Fair: from 21st to 24th March 2012 in Nuremberg, Hall 10.1, Stall 516!
