Among the program highlights include several sessions focused on sustainability issues.

Presentations will include:

  • Cycle approaches to sustainably manage materials in building and infrastructure projects by Paul Bertram, CSI Distinguished Member
  • Plant-based odorant additive for polyurethane foam applications by Emmanuel Pretet of Breyner
  • High performance and sustainable azelate polyols for coatings by Mark Anater of Emery Oleochemicals
  • Applying state-of-the-art chemical-free rubber de-vulcanization technology in TPU recycling by Mark Couturier of Toyota Tsusho Canada and Tim Cornell of Green Metals Canada
  • Bio-renewable, high performance polyurethane dispersions by Matthew Terwillegar of Myriant Corporation

Opening Keynote

Robert Peacock, Consultant from ICIS Consultant will kick off the conference on Tuesday, Sept. 11, delivering the opening keynote: Overview of recent market and pricing developments in polyurethanes chemicals. Subsequent papers will focus on the North American market along with global pricing trends in raw materials. Tuesday afternoon sessions will focus on rigid foams.

Wednesday’s sessions will kick off with several papers highlighting innovations in technology and machinery, including using IMS technology in foam plants, systems to support customer processes and HFOs. A panel discussion will conclude the morning session.

Sessions on CASE Innovations

When delegates return from the exhibition Wednesday afternoon, the focus will turn to CASE innovations, with nine papers scheduled for presentation through Thursday, Sept. 13. Speakers will look at new generation polycarbonate diols, converge polyols, azelate polyols and polycarbonate dial-based sealants for the building and construction industry.

In addition to receiving updates on key issues impacting the polyurethanes industry, delegates will benefit from the chance to network with the world’s leading practitioners.

Visitors attending UTECH North America include representatives from a wide cross-section of industries innovating with polyurethane. This includes automotive, aerospace, building and construction, furniture and bedding, electrical and electro-technical, footwear and textiles, mining and offshore, pipes and pipelines, refrigeration and insulation as well as specialist surgical and medical.

Held in conjunction with the conference, the independent UTECH North America trade show will connect suppliers and buyers from across the polyurethane industry for two days of networking, learning and identifying new business opportunities. As the only show that is 100 percent polyurethanes, attendees can expect to meet with leading suppliers including REPI, Chromaflo, ESCO (Edge Sweets), Emery Oleochemicals and many more.
