IRVING, Texas -- Shermco Industries and Caterpillar Inc. have announced that the companies have signed a five-year agreement to expand advanced wear coatings services for large metal parts to the industrial sector in North America. By working with Caterpillar, Shermco will further strengthen its position in the industrial market by offering competitively priced solutions while extending a part's lifecycle to well beyond its expected original life.

For more than 35 years, Caterpillar has been developing and applying advanced wear coatings to extend the service life and performance of Cat® machine components - whether new or remanufactured. Now the same Cat custom services are available to other equipment manufacturers as well as users of large industrial equipment as Cat® Advanced Wear Coatings Services.

"Caterpillar has demonstrated expertise in extending the life of parts that may have been otherwise scrapped. We see great opportunities in the industrial market place to provide reliable solutions to utilities, mining, agriculture, petrochemical and marine industries." said Ron Widup, president of Shermco. "We are uniquely positioned to leverage Caterpillar's experience in extending product life and provide those solutions of the highest value to North American customers."

"We are fortunate to team with a company like Shermco," said Tony Zampogna Jr., Commercial Manager of Industrial Solutions Advanced Wear Coatings for Caterpillar. "It has a great reputation in the marketplace, and as a result we will benefit from the relationships it has established over the years."
