RPM Wood Finishes Group Inc. Deploys Infor Process ERP for Improved Business Process Integration

Published on 2005-07-20. Author : SpecialChem

ATLANTA -- Infor, the largest global enterprise software provider exclusively focused on delivering integrated enterprise applications to customers in the manufacturing and distribution markets announced that RPM Wood Finishes Group Inc., part of the Consumer Division of RPM International, Inc. (NYSE: RPM - News), a world leader in specialty coatings, serving both the industrial and consumer markets, has successfully implemented Infor Process ERP. With Infor Process ERP deployed at two companies, and plans to bring on additional companies in the future, RPM Wood Finishes is benefiting from complete enterprise integration of inventory, finance, order management, purchasing, planning and production management functions.

RPM's Wood Finishes Group is made up of a diverse enterprise offering a variety of branded products including Mohawk Finishing Products, Chemical Coatings, Westfield Coatings, and Guardian Products, Inc. to furniture manufacturers, retailers and do-it-yourselfers. With many companies making up the Wood Finishes Group, a complex matrix of disparate applications and information systems made it difficult for the company to have complete enterprise visibility. Infor Process ERP not only closes the functional gaps RPM was facing in areas like formula management, planning, production and forecasting, the company is now also able to eliminate many manual reconciliation processes and interfaces to gain significant value from sharing accurate, more consistent data across divisions.

"Infor Process ERP provides both integrated functionality to help us better manage our enterprise information, as well as functionality to meet our industry requirements, such as item-pack configuration, deployment of pack BOMs, extensive pricing functionality and formula management," said Dave Deggendorf, ERP Project Manager for RPM Wood Finishes Group, Inc. "We were also extremely pleased with Infor's business experience and industry knowledge which provided us with valuable support throughout the project-from helping us with the initial enterprise architecture decision, to on-site education, and product consulting - Infor made sure we met our business process goals while gaining maximum value from the ERP software capabilities."

"Infor's focused manufacturing capabilities and best in class services provide customers, like RPM Wood Finishes Group, valuable capabilities to better run their businesses," said Hermann Stehlik, General Manager of Infor's Process Manufacturing Solutions Group. "Our continued successes in helping our customers achieve profitable benefits and competitive advantage with essential solutions like Infor Process ERP reinforces our strength in the process verticals we serve. And we are excited to provide this value to such a reputable chemical industry customer like the RPM Wood Finishes Group."
