Rohm and Haas Honoured With Prestigious Award At Interlakokraska 2008

MORGES, Switzerland -- Rohm and Haas, the world's leading manufacturer of specialty chemical materials, was recently honoured with the prestigious "Award for Progressive Thinking and Innovation in the Coating Industry" by the National Fund "For the Good of the Homeland" during the Interlakokraska 2008 Show in Moscow, Russia.

On winning the award. Misha Shukov, Country Manager Rohm and Haas Russia, CIS and Baltic States said, "We are very proud of this award. Rohm and Haas is the first American company to be honoured by the National Fund. This award ceremony dates back to 1998 and supports the historical Russian tradition of the recognition of outstanding achievements of both individuals and organizations. This award is seen as an acknowledgement of technology leadership and, more importantly, sustainability and commitment to the Russian coatings industry."

On the company's stand, visitors were able to discuss Rohm and Haas's latest innovative technologies and sustainable product ranges with key specialists who were available to provide quality solutions for their paint and coatings challenges. Product ranges featured included the company's broad spectrum of high-quality polymer emulsions, resins and additives for exterior and interior paints, industrial coatings for metal, plastic and wood; traffic paints; floor coatings, textural coatings and construction materials; new-generation film fungicides and in-can preservatives; and the new collection of the CLAYMORETM range of powder coatings.

During the first Business Congress: "Current Problems of Coating Business in Russia: Management, Investments, Personnel", Rohm and Haas delivered a presentation to the delegates on "Rohm and Haas - a Marketing Partner in the Coating Business with the Paint Quality Institute", by Liudmila Derkach and Oksana Slavina.

At the Annual Scientific and Practical Conference the following day: "Coating Industry Today: Innovations, Quality, Market", Rohm and Haas again delivered a series of insightful presentations that were of direct relevance to the market:

  • "Increasing the Need for Film Fungicides for Exterior Coatings" - Paul Wood and Oleg Belikov.
  • "Ropaque Ultra ETM - More Than Cost Savings!" - Jean-Luc Blaise and Roman Zhukov.
  • "Rohm and Haas High-Temperature Specialty Materials" - Gianfranco Vendramin and Oleg Karpovich.
