Rohm and Haas Company Announces Price Increases For Architectural and Functional Coatings In North America

Published on 2004-09-30. Author : SpecialChem

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Rohm and Haas Company will implement list and off-list price increases for all acrylic emulsions, vinyl acrylic emulsions, solution polymers, solid grade resins, and additives sold to the architectural coatings, industrial coatings, construction and building products, traffic markings, graphic arts, and the textile and non-wovens industries in North America. The increases, which range from 4% to 7% percent per wet pound for emulsions and from 4% to 7% percent per dry pound for solid-grade resins, will take effect October 15th or as contracts allow.

The increases are required to offset the continuing escalation in crude oil and all major petrochemical feedstock costs, especially acetone, which have reached record levels. Shortages and spot outages of feedstocks are aggravating the economic picture.
