Rohm and Haas Announces Price Increase for Acrylate and Methacrylate Monomers in the Americas

Philadelphia, PA, March 15, 2004 - ROHM AND HAAS COMPANY (NYSE: ROH) announced today that, with the continued rising costs of key raw materials coinciding with improved economies and tightening global supply and demand, it is increasing off list prices for acrylate and methacrylate monomers shown below, effective April 1, 2004. These increases, effective in the Americas, are as follows:

Products Americas

Butyl acrylate (BA) $0.10/pound

Ethyl acrylate (EA) $0.10/pound

Glacial acrylic acid (GAA and GAA-FG) $0.10/pound

Methyl methacrylate (MMA) $0.10/pound

n-Butyl methacrylate (BMA) $0.10/pound

Glacial methacrylic acid (GMAA) $0.10 /pound
