Research Triangle Park, NC -- Reichhold announced price increases for solvent, water-based and water-reducible coating resins.

Specific increases include prices on all solvent-borne acrylics, alkyd and polyester resins, oil-modified urethanes, emulsions, epoxy resins and curing agents and all urethane and powder coating resins which will go up $ 0.05 per pound. Water reducible resins will be increased $ 0.07 per pound.

These increases are in addition to all previously announced increases and are effective for the US and Canada on all orders shipped on or after September 19, 2005.

"The hurricane which struck the Gulf Coast has intensified an already tight situation for many key raw materials used in the coatings industry," said Randy Vasseur, director North American sales for Reichhold's Coating business. "Transportation lines have been severely altered and the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel has risen to historic levels, impacting costs significantly," Vasseur continued.

Vasseur further stated that Reichhold has made every effort to ensure supply of these key raw materials and is confident in its ability to offer uninterrupted service to the company's valued customers.

"We will work diligently to continue delivery of products in a timely manner," Vasseur said. "We thank our customers for their understanding and continued support during this difficult time," he concluded.
