PolyOne Names Dean E. Searles Applications Engineer in Its Inks Business

Cleveland -- PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL) announced that Dean E. Searles has joined the company as applications engineer for the Inks group, a subsidiary of the PolyOne Formulators group located in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Searles' primary responsibilities include testing screen printing inks for real-world applications such as fashion and athletic wear. In addition, he will work closely with research and development to test new ink products and technologies. The PolyOne Inks business markets and manufactures screen printing inks for textile end-uses under the Wilflex™ and Plast-O-Meric™ brands. The PolyOne Formulators group manufactures polymer coatings, additives and colorants for various market sectors.

Searles brings more than 10 years of color and print production management experience to PolyOne, having worked at Coudray Graphic Technologies, an international leader in the printing industry. He also has sales and marketing experience in the graphic design field. Searles will report to Steve E. Hedge, PolyOne Inks technical service manager.

He will succeed Ray E. Smith, who is now a sales representative for the Inks group.
