Personnel changes in the Celanese management: Andreas Pohlmann to leave at the end of 2006

Published on 2006-07-03. Author : SpecialChem

Dallas/Kronberg -- Dr. Andreas Pohlmann (48), executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Celanese Corporation, will leave the chemical company by mutually amicable consent at the end of the 2006. He will also resign as chairman of the management board of Celanese AG at that time.

Andreas Pohlmann has been a member of the global executive management team since the founding of Celanese Corporation. Moreover, he was named chairman of the management board of Celanese AG on November 1, 2004. His primary responsibility was the company's reorganization in Germany, which was successfully completed upon approval of the squeeze-out by the company's annual general meeting on May 30, 2006. The company plans on successfully delisting the Celanese AG share in the second half of 2006.

"Andreas Pohlmann held a number of key positions in Celanese since it was demerged from Hoechst, and thus played a major role in shaping and realigning the company. We thank him for his many years of excellent service to our company," said David Weidman, president and chief executive officer of Celanese Corporation.

The decision on leadership succession at Celanese AG will be made in connection with the squeeze-out and the ensuing reorganization of the company's legal structure.
