Charleston, SC -- A prime illustration of the marriage of style and practicality, "The Tree House" is sited around an imposing live oak tree on a one-plus acre lagoon lot in the May River Forest of Palmetto Bluff. This "green home," designed by Sherry White of White Interiors, Inc. and built by Strimpfel Custom Homes will have an earthy, organic feel with reclaimed architectural elements such as wood beams, a granite fireplace and antique brick. The home's classic Lowcountry craftsmanship combined with a US Government LEED-certification for energy efficiency and environmental quality, make "The Tree House" an extraordinary addition to the Palmetto Bluff community.

Sherwin-Williams/Duron Paints & Wallcoverings is pleased to be the exclusive paint sponsor for the project which features Duration Home Interior Latex paints tinted in hues from the Colors of Historic Charleston, Carolina Lowcountry Collection, and Mount Vernon Estate of Colours®. Duration Home is an environmentally-friendly paint solution that boasts low VOC (volatile organic compound) and low odor properties. The coatings are also compliant with the stringent LEED-certification standards.

"The Tree House" features exceptional living and entertaining spaces with advanced technology and a modern aesthetic. The media room, painted in 'Cochineal' (DMV 079), has cork flooring, sound buffers in the walls, and stained wood ceiling. With walls painted in 'Aunt Betty's China' from the Colors of Historic Charleston palette, the master bathroom is luxurious and spacious. The floors are covered in fossil stone imported from India and the vanity houses an embedded television.

White also selected 'Chapel of Ease' (DCL 040), 'Coffered Green' (DCL 044) and 'Sullivan's Dune' (DCR 003) from the Colors of Historic Charleston and the Carolina Lowcountry Collection palettes. She explains her choice was simple, "The Carolina Lowcountry Collection and Colors of Historic Charleston palettes were ideal for this special Lowcountry home. I was especially pleased they were available in the Duration Home "green" formula, proving that a healthy interior environment can coexist with great style."

Rooted in history and inspired by the brilliant landscape of Charleston, South Carolina, and its surrounding woods and waters, these palettes are perfect for homeowners who want to bring the stately grace and beauty of Charleston into their home while using colors consistent with today's color trends. Additional paint colors were chosen from the Mount Vernon Estate of Colours palette inspired by the estate, artifacts, and gardens of George Washington's Mount Vernon residence.

Colors of Historic Charleston and Carolina Lowcountry Collection and Mount Vernon Estate of Colours are exclusively available at over 3,000 Sherwin-Williams and Duron Paints & Wallcoverings stores across the country. Proceeds from purchases of paints from these palettes go to the Historic Charleston Foundation and the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association to supplement their conservation and education efforts.
