Painting and Decorating Contractors of America Forms Education Trust

The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) announces the formation of a new 501 ( c ) (3) Education Trust-The Painting Contractor Education Partnership (PCEP). PCEP's mission to educate and certify coatings and wallcovering contractors in the business management and technical aspects of the architectural finishes industry. PCEP is a partnership between manufacturers and suppliers, contractors, and consumers/end users. It establishes course work and distribution of new, quality education to all painting contractors, in an accessible and affordable manner.

PCEP named Rick Palmer of Amarillo, Texas the Executive Director. Palmer, an Amarillo native, has been an active painting contractor with Palmer Painting Co., Inc. since 1975. From 1987 until 1990, he was a national elected officer of PDCA and has many years of service on PDCA's Board of Directors. In 1989, Palmer was appointed as a Small Business Construction Employer member of the Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (ACOSH), where he advised OSHA on Construction Industry Safety issues.

PCEP will be headquartered in Amarillo, Texas and will begin offering courses through seminars and correspondence the first quarter of 2003. Internet courses will be offered in late 2003. For more information, contact Rick Palmer @ 1-806-372-5092.
