TAMPA, Fla. -- The second annual Paint and Coatings EXPO (PACE), geared to the theme of "An Ocean of Education and Information," will take place January 29-February 1, 2006, at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL.

PACE is a one-stop-shop for technical and business education, a forum for demonstrations of the newest and most innovative technology, a place to meet the leading contractors, facility owners and manufacturers and an incredible venue to celebrate the painting profession.

Sponsored by PDCA, the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America and SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings, PACE will feature a full program of educational presentations, workshops, as well as a major trade show. The educational program consists of approximately 200 offerings which will address the full spectrum of current business and technical issues relevant to paint and coatings. There will also be over 200 exhibitors including manufacturers, suppliers and vendors representing all aspects of the industry.

The featured keynote speaker will be Richard Teerlink, former Chairman of Harley-Davidson. During his tenure, Teerlink revitalized the Harley-Davidson brand and successfully guided the company back to public ownership. Mr. Teerlink will be speaking on his guiding principle that "people are an organization's only sustainable competitive advantage:"

In addition, attendee registration fees have been reduced by 10% from 2005 in an effort to encourage attendance and 1% of full-conference fees will be donated to hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf Region.

Mr. Greg Schnurr, PDCA president, said, "There's so much that is noteworthy at PACE 2006 -- new speakers, new topics, new schedule -- as well as established and traditional features, that PACE will continue to Inspire, Inform and Electrify.

The exhibit hall will combine face-to-face meetings with manufacturers and suppliers as well as scheduled demonstrations and a new feature, "Trading Places," where contractors can learn more about what others in their industry do.

Added Mr. Carl Angeloff, P.E., SSPC president: "PACE literally has something of interest for every coatings industry professional. From raw materials suppliers to formulators and chemists; from engineers and specifiers to end users and paint & coatings applicators, everyone can benefit from coming to PACE."
