Nuplex Names New Chairman

The chairman of Nuplex Industries Limited, Mr Fred Holland, has advised that he does not intend to stand for re-election at the annual general meeting on 31 October 2008. The board has resolved that Mr Robert Aitken, an independent non-executive director of the company since July 2006, should succeed Mr Holland as chairman following the annual general meeting.

Mr Holland has been associated with Nuplex for 46 years. He was appointed managing director in 1981, becoming chairman and chief executive officer in 1996 and nonexecutive chairman in 2001.

Mr Aitken, based in Sydney, is chairman of Rubicor Group Limited and a non-executive director of Alesco Corporation Limited. He has a degree in chemical engineering from the University of New South Wales and previously held senior management roles with manufacturing, industrial marketing and distribution businesses in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe.
