Nova Paint Club Elects New President

The Nova Paint Club has elected Ivan Hurtado as its new President. Mr. Hurtado is currently general manager of the paint division of Inversiones Mundial, which has major operations in Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador.

The Nova Paint Club is an international organization founded in 1983 for the purpose of providing a framework within which leading, global independent paint companies can benefit from exchanges of technical information, technology, and the sharing of expertise in all areas of their fields of operation.

Mr. Hurtado was elected at Nova's Board of Directors meeting held in the U.K. on October 18th 2003, taking over from Dr. Rainer Votteler, executive director of the family-owned German paint manufacturer Votteler Lackfabrik .

Mr Hurtado said " I am honoured to be elected; Nova is recognised as a prestigious organisation within our industry and I look forward to playing my full part in achieving the new goals we have set." Dr Rainer Votteler had held the presidency for 3 years, during which time said Mr Hurtado he had spearheaded a number of major new initiatives in cooperation between the members.

The next Board meeting is scheduled for May 2004 in Sydney, Australia when it will held at the same time as a conference for Technical Directors from each of Nova's 14 member companies.
