WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) announced that Business Ethics magazine has once again ranked it on its list of the nation's leading corporate citizens. The publication's sixth annual list of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens, just released, includes Nordson for the fifth straight year. The company ranking increased to No. 37 from No. 65 in 2004.

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens 2005 list aims to recognize Russell 1000 firms that perform to a higher standard to a variety of stakeholders with excellence and integrity. The data and rating is provided by KLD Research & Analytics of Boston. The ranking is based on quantitative measures of corporate service to eight stakeholder groups; shareholders, community, diversity, employees, environment, human rights, product and the added category this year, governance.

"We're honored by Business Ethics magazine's acknowledgment of Nordson and the manner in which we do business," said Edward P. Campbell, Nordson chairman and chief executive officer. "The business and operating principles set forth by Nordson's founder, Walter G. Nord, and his two sons, Eric and Evan, continue to guide and inspire us to be the best company for our customers, partners, communities and employees in every market worldwide," Campbell added.

Through volunteer efforts, personal donations and corporate contributions - Nordson commits 5 percent of its pretax domestic earnings for charitable purposes. Beneficiaries of this largess include education, human welfare, civic affairs, and arts and culture endeavors surrounding major Nordson facilities in Lorain and Cuyahoga counties in Ohio; Greater Atlanta, Dawsonville and Swainsboro in Georgia; San Diego, California; and East Providence, Rhode Island. The 100 Best Corporate Citizens story appears in the spring issue of Business Ethics. For more information, plus the full list and story, log on to www.business-ethics.com.
