New Structural products applied by Robot

Published on 2010-08-05. Author : SpecialChem

In response to the increasing use of automated and robotic application techniques in coatings application, AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings has just completed extensive trials to compare performance in the application of its Aerowave structural coatings. The business has been working closely with OEM customers to help reduce working process times and cut solvent usage. With the Aerowave series of next generation waterborne structural products the trials show the end result is the same low build closed film that meets a number of key OEM specifications, whether Aerowave is applied by hand spray or by robotics.

The choice of Aerowave series means that no matter which application process is selected, shorter process times and reduced solvent usage can be achieved. An added benefit to is that the Aerowave range meets or exceeds all current VOC legislation and is fully REACH compliant (for the EU), helping customers meet their sustainability goals.
