Nanotech Industries International's Technology Places 2nd in Prestigious CPI Polyurethane Innovation Award Competition

SAN FRANCISCO -- EPOD Solar Inc., announced that Green Polyurethane™, licensed to its wholly owned subsidiary, Nanotech Industries International Inc. (d/b/a Hybrid Coating Technologies "HCT"), received second place behind BASF at this year's Polyurethane Innovation Award competition. HCT's Green Polyurethane™ are the world's first ever polyurethane coatings and paint developed without the use of any toxic isocyanates throughout the entire production process.

The competition is hosted by the Center for Polyurethane Industry (CPI), which is part of the American Chemistry Council. This year's CPI conference focused on advances in polyurethane and the economic benefits of "going green." The conference attracted more than 750 scientists, engineers, manufacturers and business leaders from around the world. More than 700 entries were evaluated for the award and three finalists, including Green Polyurethane™, were selected by a panel of judges representing a cross-section of leaders from the polyurethane industry, academia and media. Finalists gave brief presentations at the opening session of the conference and attendees then voted for those they believed showed the most innovative use of polyurethanes.

"The Polyurethane Innovation Award shines a well-deserved spotlight on the companies and individuals that have brought innovative new solutions to the marketplace," said Steve Russell, vice president, Plastics Division, American Chemistry Council.

The Problem of Conventional Coatings/Paint and Isocyanates
