HOUSTON, TEXAS - The Oilfield Technology Group (OTG) of Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. has announced the opening of a new transload facility to provide resin coated proppants to fracturing service companies and operators in the oil and gas industry.

Momentive has a complete network of transload facilities to provide customers with an efficient and cost-effective supply of resin coated proppants. Momentive maintains a transload footprint in every major basin in the United States and Canada, ensuring that customers get the product of their choice near the wellsite. Located in Ft. Collins, Colorado, this new transload facility is well positioned to serve the surrounding Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin area. Exploration companies operating in the DJ Basin, as well as other areas such as the Powder River Basin, will now have access to a larger supply of resin coated proppants, including Momentive's OilPlusTM proppant for enhanced oil recovery. The new facility is strategically located to provide product in close proximity to where it is needed in the field.

"Momentive is the leading supplier of resin coated proppants to the oil and gas industry," said Jerry Borges, Senior Vice President, Oilfield Technology Group. "This new expansion increases our delivery capabilities to meet the needs of our customers. Additional investments such as this new transload demonstrate our continued commitment to providing Momentive's innovative proppant technology as we continue to expand." Resin coated proppants are used in the hydraulic fracturing process to help optimize production from oil and gas wells by maximizing fracture flow capacity from the reservoir to the wellbore. Technological innovations and Momentive's introduction of enhanced materials have expanded the use of resin coated proppants into unconventional reservoirs that feature complex and challenging geological formations. Momentive's experienced personnel, with their years of hydraulic fracturing knowledge and expertise; continue to bring advanced proppants to the industry.

"We are dedicated to creating the most extensive proppant supply network in the industry to efficiently deliver our expanding portfolio of patented products. Our focus remains on providing the most advanced resin coated proppant technology to our customers," Borges said.
