New Distribution Agreement - Highlights and Rationale

This new mandate further strengthens Azelis’ strategic acquisition of Megafarma earlier this year to expand into the Latin American CASE market. It leverages existing Azelis Americas CASE assets, including application labs, digital platforms, technical and market intelligence, in the Mexican market. The mandate is in line with Azelis’ corporate strategy of organic growth through the expansion of existing relationships with key principals into new territories.

Sidnei Lamim, Latin America Sales Director, Celanese acetyls business, says, “Celanese is pleased to expand our distribution relationship and to offer our emulsion polymers portfolio of products through Megafarma, via adhesives, coatings, sealants and elastomers. Celanese aims to be the emulsions provider of choice in the industries we serve globally, including paints and coatings, adhesives, non-wovens, carpet, glass fibers, textiles, paper and building/construction. We have an ongoing commitment to innovation and technology development in these industries.”

Dan Gruber, Managing Director, New Business Development, Azelis Americas CASE, says, “Celanese and Azelis have a terrific working relationship. We have partnered together for many years in the US and Canada CASE market. Expanding this relationship to Mexico is a great opportunity for both of us. The emulsion polymer technology from Celanese is best in class and we look forward to growing the CASE business in Mexico.”

Lucia Zamudio, CASE Sales Director, Megafarma, an Azelis company, adds, “We are excited to begin representing Celanese to the CASE market in Mexico. Megafarma’s technically trained and commercially experienced sales team understand the value and benefits this technology adds to our customer’s product. In addition, we will leverage the Azelis Americas CASE application lab network to provide innovative solutions to our customers. The Celanese portfolio of emulsion polymers is complementary to our expanding list of new CASE mandates in Mexico. We are poised to grow the Celanese business into the Mexican CASE market.
