CLEVELAND, OH -- Lubrizol Performance Products (LPP), a business group within The Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE: LZ), successfully completed an ISO 9001-2000 periodic audit for its Spartanburg, SC facility. LPP also received a "first-time" recommendation for certification to the ISO 9001:2000 standard for its Cheyenne, WY facility. Det Norske Veritas (DNV) completed both evaluations during the first two weeks of December 2004.

"Obtaining the ISO certification is just one of many ways that we assure our customers around the world that they are receiving the highest quality products available on the market today," said Roman Radekevich, LPP President. "We always are looking for ways to control and improve the quality of our products and to reduce costs and delays associated with poor quality. These certifications give us a competitive edge as tangible evidence of our commitment to quality," added Radekevich.

Quality management principals evaluated during both certification processes include, but are not limited to: customer focus, human resources, leadership, design & development, involvement of people, and an extensive ongoing effort towards continual improvement.

"This milestone is a testament to the motivation, perseverance, and passion for excellence throughout the entire LPP team. Quality is a journey and we believe we have just started. Cheyenne expects to receive their final ISO certification during January of 2005," added Frank Magazine, GM of the Cheyenne facility.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was established in 1947 to develop international standards in many areas. Its members come from over 120 national standard bodies.
