LEVERKUSEN -- Specialty chemicals group LANXESS AG is once again participating in the Big 5 Show in Dubai, one of the most important trade shows on the Persian Gulf. The Inorganic Pigments (IPG) business unit will showcase its wide-ranging line of inorganic pigments for the coloration of construction materials and applications in the coatings industry. The International Exhibition Centre in Dubai will be hosting five different fairs simultaneously, with more than 3,000 companies from 50 countries exhibiting the latest products and developments from the construction, HVAC and cleaning and maintenance sectors.

Dubai, known throughout the world for superlative projects such as the man-made islands known as "The Palm" and "The World" and the world's tallest skyscraper "Burj Dubai", is representative for the possibilities of the Middle East and Africa region. As one of the world's leading manufacturers of iron oxide pigments, LANXESS wants to expand its position in this growing market. Commenting on the trade show appearance, Hans-Joachim Kühle, IPG head of Marketing Middle East & Africa says: "This year we want to focus on the Bayferrox brand and international reference projects for coloring architectural concrete. By so doing, we can demonstrate how the material properties and technical functionality of concrete can be ideally combined with aesthetic design considerations." Kühle adds that colored precast concrete elements offer interesting opportunities for using LANXESS products. "The market is proving to be increasingly receptive to our superior quality and service. As the most important construction trade show in the Gulf region, the Big 5 Show is the ideal platform for deepening our ties to customers in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent."

In time for the trade show, LANXESS has produced a new brochure with processing advice for coloring concrete, which is available in German, English and Russian.

LANXESS is a leader in specialty chemicals with sales in 2007 of EUR 6.61 billion and currently around 15,100 employees in 21 countries. The company is represented at 44 production sites worldwide. The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacture and sale of plastics, rubber, intermediates and specialty chemicals.
