Published on 2012-12-25. Author : SpecialChem

This capital expenditure decision demonstrates the ambition of KEM ONE, a producer of PVC Emulsion in Southern Europe, to further develop this strategic specialties business.

"By increasing PVC Emulsion production capacity to 42,000 tons/year at Hernani's site, we will be able to partner our customers in new developments, while also continuing to assist them with current projects. Meanwhile, this investment will enable us to strengthen our positions in Europe and consolidate our presence in emerging countries", stated Bertrand Jausseme, Marketing and Sales Director.

An additional investment was realised for overhauling the packaging facilities to meet the needs of its customers. The flexibility of their bulk deliveries has been significantly increased.

When this production capacity increase becomes fully operational in 2013, KEM ONE will have 112,000 tons overall annual production capacities for PVC Emulsion at its two sites of Saint-Auban, France, and Hernani, Spain.

KEM ONE, a newly founded company fully integrated in the vinyl sector, builds on several dozen years of expertise in the chlorochemicals and vinyl products business. Formed from Arkema's vinyl products division, KEM ONE will now continue its development within the Klesch Group, a leading European operator of industrial and commodity-related businesses.

With its impressive know-how as a long-standing player in the fields of chlorochemicals and vinyl products in Europe, the KEM ONE Group has solid foundations. KEM ONE's business stretches from the extraction of salt and the production of chlorine, soda and their derivatives, to the manufacturing of PVC (polyvinyl chloride), its formulation into highly technical vinyl compounds and its conversion into tubes and profiles.
