Jotun Saudia activities for the last month varied from a visit to the Royal commission (Yanbu) to appointing the new Managing Director and inaugurating 2 Multicolor Centers

Jotun Chairman visits Royal commission Yanbu

The members of the board had a short visit to Yanbu with intention of meeting some key customers and dealers. As well paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of Royal commission of Yanbu H.E. Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Juwaiser.

Also Mr.Erik Aaberg -Executive Vice President and Gunnar Thoresen Managing Director designate attended the meeting.

In this meeting Mr. Odd Gleditch apprised His Excellency about the development of the paint market world wide and Jotun’s future plans in specific.

H.E. Al - Juwaiser informed that Royal commission has investment plan for almost 15 billion Saudi Riyals (4 billion USD). In addition, he showed interest in promoting Jotashield Thermo to the Royal commission property.

Welcome to Jotun Saudia - Arabic style

26th April 2005 was a special day for Jotun Saudia in many ways. It was a day for the board meeting with annual day celebration for 2005 and on the same day we had 4 Managing Directors in one function - Two previous Managing Directors (Erik Aaberg and Knut Almestrand) Present Managing Director Tor H Johansen and Managing Director designate Gunnar Thoresen.

The taking over ceremony of Managing director was done in a typical Arabic style by handing over a Bedouin knife which was a surprise to Gunnar as seen in the picture.

It was also a day of Annual wards, declaration of bonus with an emotional touch of bidding farewell to Morsi Al Barberi ( credit controller ) Ravi vettakasery ( Business System Manager ).

Exploring new areas for Multicolor Centers

Gunnar Thoresen in his the first time to eastern province of Saudi Arabia which the richest oil reserve in the world. He inaugurated the 131st Multicolor Center owned by M/S Garni est. and the 132nd Jotun Multicolor shop in Dammam owned by Ali Al-Hazmi.

Jotun is the first paint company to open a shops in this area which is under massive development of private real estate. Yet to see competitors are following Jotun sooner or later.
