Jotun Abu Dhabi with triple success

Jotun Paints in Abu Dhabi has experienced great success the last couple of months. The company has won a new building contract worth USD 550,000. This contract also led to two other successes.

Jotun is delivering paint to a new customer and the product that has been chosen is a brand new Jotun innovation, Marathon XHB, a product that hasn't been used before in the Middle East.

The National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) won a prestigious EPC Offshore Project for the Indian oil company, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC). The contract is worth USD 200 million, and will be completed by April 2007.

Our strong relationship with NPCC has helped Jotun to be selected by ONGC.

ONGC have approved Marathon XHB for the toughest exposures, like tidal zones and decks. It is the first time that ONGC of India have used Jotun Paints, and Sales Manager Ashraf Wassef in Jotun Abu Dhabi is very pleased with the contract.

"We are very satisfied that we were chosen to deliver coating to the three jackets that ONGC has ordered from NPCC, and our delivery will be finished this month," says Wassef.

He says that this is seen as a great success in Jotun, and he believes that part of the reason they got the contract was Marathon XHB.

"This new product has filled a gap in the market with a very high thickness. It is tougher and it saves time because of its single coat protection at high dry film thickness," says Wassef.

The product was launched in 2005 and is already in sale in Malaysia and Vietnam, and now in Abu Dhabi. "It is a success just to get the contract. When you also get a contract with a new customer, and you win it by using a new product with zero track record, this is what I call a triple success".
