ISP to Increase 1,4 Butanediol and Derivative Solvent Prices Effective September 1, 2005

Wayne, N.J. -- International Specialty Products Inc. (ISP) has announced that it will increase its global list and off list prices on 1,4 Butanediol (BDO), y-Butyrolactone (BLO); N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (M-Pyrol), Tetrahydrofuran (THF), and Gafsolver TMP effective September 1, 2005, or as contracts allow.

The price increase in each region will be:

  • North America - $0.10 per pound
  • Europe - $0.18 per kilogram
  • Asia - $0.20 per kilogram

The price increase is necessary due to continued increase in raw material costs. The increase will also help support ISP's continued investment in product quality, technical support and regulatory compliance, including the Company's commitment to Responsible Care® and Process Safety Management.
