ISP and Kafrit announce that they will explore the possibility of cooperating together to jointly develop the use of ISP's globally approved biocides in masterbatches

WAYNE, N.J. -- International Specialty Products Inc. (ISP) and Kafrit Industries (1993) Ltd. announced that they will explore the possibility of cooperating together to jointly develop the use of ISP's globally approved biocides in masterbatches for several applications. These include Polyolefin, PC and PMMA. The cooperation could bring great value to the customers in those market segments where Kafrit is strong such as Agrifilms, Packaging Films, Molding & Injection and Potting & Containers.

Pieter Steenbeek, ISP Business Director Biocides - EMEA, commenting on the agreement, stated: "More and more end-users and producers are looking for ways to prevent staining, defacement and deterioration of polymeric materials due to microbiological growth. However, regulatory pressure on traditionally used actives such as OBPA is forcing end users to take a closer look at the character of the actives used. ISP offer a broad portfolio of microbiological actives to the plastics processing market, ranging from IPBC to Folpet, and are therefore very pleased that we have come to an agreement with Kafrit. The combined forces of a world-wide leading biocides producer, ISP, and a leading, innovative masterbatch producer, Kafrit, could soon allow customers to take maximum benefit from low toxicity, leach resistant, UV stable and cost effective biocides for use on a wide range of plastics."
