Interplastic Announces Rise in Resin & Gelcoat Prices

Published on 2011-01-21. Author : SpecialChem

St. Paul, MN -- Steve Wetzel, National Sales Manager, and Daryl Francis, Business Manager West, announced that Interplastic Corporation's Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of CoREZYN and Silmar brand products $.08 per pound on all polyester and vinyl ester resins, gel coats, colorants and putties. This increase will take effect on all shipments on or after February 5, 2011.

Raw material prices have continued to escalate into the new year pushed by strong crude oil prices and increased demand in many markets. Propylene and benzene in particular are rising and affecting many polyester raw materials. Interplastic appreciates the understanding of our customers as we try to limit the impact of these rising material costs.

Interplastic's Thermoset Resins Division is the manufacturer of CoREZYN and Silmar brand unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, specialty resins, gel coats, and colorants for the cast polymer and composites industries. All CoREZYN and Silmar products are sold direct and through Interplastic's extensive network of distributors in North America and around the world.
